Where it is
The church of Sorokpol parish stands in Powiewiórka (today Pavoverė in the Švenčionys district of Lithuania), about 6 km east of Podbrodzie (Pabradė). Older records call the church Sorokpol, later ones Powiewiórka. It is the same parish. Its villages included Żukiszki, Zułów, Lutów and Mirańce.
Józef Piłsudski was baptised in this wooden church of St Casimir in 1867. His baptism record, number 53, is in register 8, which we have read.

From Podmirańce. Record 107. In the year of Our Lord 1816, on the 11th of November, I, Kazimierz Godlewski, administrator of Sorokpol parish, baptised an infant named Felicjan, born on the 9th of this month, son of the well-born Stanisław Markowicz and the well-born Agata née Trabuć, lawful spouses, of the nobility. The godparents were the well-born Maciej Markowicz of Barsukiszki and the well-born Franciszka of Mirańce (her surname is written above the line and is unclear). From Podmirańce. Record 108. On the same day the same priest baptised an infant named Bogumiła, a daughter born on the 9th of this month to the same parents. The godparents were the well-born Józef Walentynowicz of Mirańce and the well-born Ewa Trabuć of Podmirańce. In records of that time the word translated here as well-born marked a member of the nobility.
