Terms of service

Who we are

Ex Archivis is a trading name of EDSN Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under number 14709199. Our registered office address is on the legal page. You can write to us at info@exarchivis.com.

What these terms cover

These terms apply to every order placed with Ex Archivis: family history research, the wall chart, the chronicle and the audiobook, records for citizenship cases, copies from Polish register offices, further blocks of work, rounds of changes and gift vouchers. If we agree something different with you by email, the email takes precedence for that order.

Preliminary assessment

The preliminary assessment is free and does not commit you to anything. It is a short reply by email based on what you tell us about your family.

How an order is made

You order by replying to our email with an offer or by paying through a payment link we send you. The contract is made when we confirm the order in writing and receive the first payment. Before you pay, the offer states what we will do, the price and the expected time.

Prices and payment

The price is the one on our website on the day of the offer or the price stated in the offer itself. On exarchivis.com prices are in US dollars, on exarchivis.pl in Polish złoty. EDSN Ltd is not registered for VAT, so no VAT is added.

You can pay by card through a payment link or by bank transfer. We start work once the payment arrives. The wall chart, chronicle and audiobook are paid in two parts: the first before we start, the second when the chronicle is delivered.

What you receive and when

All our products are files: PDF documents, audio recordings and a private web page for the family. We do not print or post anything. If you want a printed wall chart or chronicle, you order the printing yourself. A copy from a Polish register office comes as an electronic document. Otherwise the office posts it to an address in Poland.

Delivery times are given in working days in the offer. If a delay is likely, we tell you by email with the reason and a new date.

Results

We read the sources that survived and report what they contain. We cannot promise a number of generations or which ancestors we will find, because that depends on which registers survived and what they record. Work that finds nothing is still work done and is paid. There are three exceptions:

Your information

We rely on the names, dates and places you give us. If they turn out to be wrong, the extra work is a further block or a new order. Tell us everything you know at the start, including family stories you are unsure about.

Changes after delivery

The first round of your corrections to the chronicle and wall chart is included. Further rounds are priced on our website. A round is one list of changes sent in one message. We correct our own mistakes free of charge at any time.

Your right to cancel

If you are a consumer, you can cancel within 14 days of the day the contract is made, without giving a reason. A message to info@exarchivis.com is enough. We refund your payment within 14 days of your message, by the same method you used to pay.

If you ask us to start work within those 14 days and then cancel, you pay for the part of the work done up to the day of your message. Once the work is fully done within the 14 days at your request, the right to cancel ends. Official fees we have already paid on your behalf are not refunded.

Gift vouchers

A voucher is valid for 24 months from the day it is bought. It can be used for any service in our price list, in one order or in several. It can be given to anyone. It cannot be exchanged for cash. The buyer can cancel an unused voucher within 14 days of buying it and get the full price back. A promotional price for a voucher applies only on the dates shown with the offer.

Use of the files

The wall chart, chronicle and recordings are for your family's private use. You may print them, copy them and share them with relatives. Please do not sell them or publish them as your own work. We do not publish anything about your family without your written consent.

Not legal advice

For citizenship and inheritance cases we find and translate records. We do not assess your right to citizenship or to an inheritance. We do not provide sworn translations. The decision belongs to the authority or the court.

Our liability

If we break these terms, we are responsible for loss you suffer that was foreseeable when the contract was made. For any one order our liability is limited to its price. This does not limit any liability that the law does not allow us to limit, including your statutory rights as a consumer.

Complaints

Please send complaints to info@exarchivis.com. We reply within 14 days.

Law and courts

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer living in another country, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of that country and may bring a claim in its courts.

Privacy

How we handle your details is described on the legal page.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. An order is governed by the version in force on the day it is made. This version applies from 23 October 2026.
