In English
This took place in the village of Garbów on the fifteenth of November in the year one thousand eight hundred and thirty-five at one o'clock in the afternoon. We declare that a church marriage was concluded today in the presence of the witnesses Paweł Nowak (aged forty) and Michał Adamczyk (aged fifty), both peasant farmers (włościan gospodarzy) from the village of Starościn. The groom is Franciszek Pietrzak, a peasant (włościanin), born in the village of Starościn, son of the late spouses Piotr and Marianna Pietrzak née […], peasant farmers. He is in service in Starościn and lives there. He is fifty-seven years old and is a widower of the late Marianna née […]. The bride is the maiden Katarzyna Szczepaniak, daughter of the late spouses Wojciech and Agnieszka Szczepaniak née Młynarczyk, peasant farmers. She was born in the village of Starościn and lives there. She works for farmers for a day wage (wyrobnica). She is forty-seven years old. The marriage was preceded by three banns in the parish of Garbów: on the twenty-fifth of October and on the first and eighth of November of this year. No one reported any impediment. The newlyweds declare that they have made no prenuptial agreement. The record was read to the parties and the witnesses. We signed it ourselves, because the persons named in it cannot write. Father Edmund Jatkowski, vicar of the parish of Garbów.
